OUR PROGRAMS

Relief

Karachi Relief Trust (KRT) swiftly mobilizes resources and volunteers to provide immediate relief to communities affected by natural or man-made disasters. From the initial emergency response, including rescue operations, food distribution, and medical aid, our team ensures that urgent needs are met. Our history of effective relief efforts spans from the 2007 Cyclone Yemyin to the COVID-19 pandemic, and flood relief program 2022, reflecting our commitment to supporting those in crisis.

REHABILITATION

Beyond immediate relief, KRT focuses on long-term rehabilitation to restore normalcy and improve the quality of life for affected communities. Our rehabilitation programs include rebuilding homes, developing village infrastructure, and providing sustainable solutions to prevent future vulnerabilities. Our initiatives, such as the Rural Rehabilitation Program following the 2010 floods, have successfully reconstructed houses and restored livelihoods in disaster-hit areas. We are currently working for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities struck by flood 2022 through the Build Back Better initiative.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

KRT believes in empowering communities through active engagement and sustainable development. We work with local partners to provide vocational training, support educational initiatives, and promote health and hygiene practices. By involving community members in these projects, we ensure that the solutions are locally relevant and sustainable, fostering a sense of ownership and resilience among the residents.

OTHER

Based on specific community needs or donors special requirements, KRT has been part of unique initiatives such as plantations, water projects, mosque rehabilitations, etc. These projects, although varied, share the common goal of enhancing the well-being of communities and providing support where it's most needed.
